Cursor and Cline
Connecting Cursor and Cline to Morphogen as an OpenAI-compatible provider.
Cursor and Cline work with any OpenAI-compatible provider. You need three values: the URL, the key and the model name.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Base URL | https://api.morphogen.ru/v1 |
| API key | your key mg-… |
| Model | a name from GET /v1/models, for example claude-sonnet-5 |
Cursor
- Open the Cursor settings, "Models" section.
- In the OpenAI API Key block, paste your Morphogen key.
- Turn on "Override OpenAI Base URL" and enter
https://api.morphogen.ru/v1. - Add the model name with the "Add Model" button and select it in the chat.
Cursor verifies the key with a request to the provider. If the check fails, make sure the URL contains /v1 and the key is not revoked.
Cline
- Open the Cline settings.
- In the "API Provider" field, select "OpenAI Compatible".
- In "Base URL", enter
https://api.morphogen.ru/v1, and paste the key into "API Key". - In "Model ID", enter a model name from
GET /v1/models.
Cline can also work through the Anthropic format: select the "Anthropic" provider, turn on "Use custom base URL" and enter https://api.morphogen.ru without /v1.
Common errors
| Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 404 | the URL lacks /v1 or has an extra path | enter exactly https://api.morphogen.ru/v1 |
404 model_not_found | the model name is not from the catalog | take the name from GET /v1/models |
403 model_not_allowed | the model is not in the key's list | add the model in the key settings |
429 rate_limit_exceeded | the key went over its per-minute limit (120 requests by default) | wait for the time in Retry-After |
Agent modes send a long history at every step, so pass a response length limit if the client supports one: that reserves less money per request.
